CHICAGO — A Chicago police officer was injured after their car was hit while they were investigating a crash Sunday morning on the Dan Ryan Expressway.According to Illinois State Police, the crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. on the Dan Ryan near 31st Street. (AP) — A Confederate memorial is to be removed from Arlington National Cemetery in northern Virginia in the coming days, part of the push to remove symbols that commemorate the Confederacy from military-related facilities, a cemetery official said Saturday.The decision ignores a recent demand from more than 40 Republican congressmen that the Pentagon suspend efforts to dismantle and remove the monument from Arlington cemetery.Safety fencing has been installed around the memorial, and officials anticipate completing the removal by Dec. 22, the Arlington National Cemetery said in an email. QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Warren County Sheriff's Office announced they are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred in Queensbury on December 15. Officers determined that on Friday night around 10:30 p.m., a red Chrysler Town and Countryminivan was traveling south on Burke Drive when it struck a pedestrian and then fled the area.
