ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles launched an online tool that will simplify the process for residents to apply for a non-driver ID card. AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Amsterdam resident is being charged with first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. Angela Mitchell, 37, was arrested on Wednesday after a joint investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit, the Department of Social Services, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office. ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Many who arrived in the Capital District seeking asylum brought school-aged children. Questions about their education loomed, and on Thursday, NEWS10 got some answers as the Mohonasen Central School District enrolled students.Local volunteers showed up to help out on the last day that the district spent enrolling the 70 kids staying at Rotterdam's Super 8 hotel. At a church nearby, parents enrolled children who took assessments meant to help the district better meet them where they are academically. GRANITE CITY, Ill. – A central Missouri man was arrested this week in connection with a child sex crime investigation in Granite City, Illinois.According to Major Nick Novacich, assistant chief of police for the Granite City Police Department, a missing juvenile report was filed with the department on Aug. 7. The next day, police received information leading to the missing juvenile’s location.Investigators contacted police in California, Missouri, who then found the juvenile at a residence and took a suspect, identified as Naresh Bass-Ocasio, into custody. The juvenile was returned to their family.
