Bangladesh has long been a beneficiary of the EU’s favourable trade terms for Least Developed Countries (LDCs). Half of its exports, notably clothing, are sold in Europe. But it will soon be considered too prosperous for LDC status. The country’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Md. Shahriar Alam, has been in Brussels to discuss the new relationship.
