Derek Carr plays through a shoulder injury, but struggles continue for the Saints’ offense

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Saints quarterback Derek Carr was visibly upset with himself after short-hopping a long sideline throw to an open Chris Olave early in the second half against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The rest of the game was just as frustrating for Carr and the sputtering New Orleans offense.Playing through a sprained shoulder that kept him out of practice earlier in the week, Carr threw for only 127 yards and failed to produce a touchdown in a 26-9 loss.A week after blowing a 17-0 fourth quarter lead to Green Bay when Carr was forced out in the third quarter, the Saints missed an early opportunity to take sole possession of first place in the NFC South.Instead, the Bucs moved to the top of the division.“That’s no excuse for us playing the way we did today,” Carr said. “Whatever it is that I have to do, I’ll do it. I just don’t want the shoulder to be an excuse for the way that we executed.”Very little went right for New Orleans after Taysom Hill slipped on a third-down catch wit...ANÁLISIS | El problema de la “regla de tres” de los Premios Nobel

Además, los des...Steelers QB Kenny Pickett leaves loss against Texans after injuring knee

HOUSTON (AP) — Pittsburgh quarterback Kenny Pickett sustained a knee injury in the third quarter Sunday against the Houston Texans and it’s unclear if he’ll play next week. But regardless of who is playing quarterback, the Steelers must find a way to get their offense on track if they hope to bounce back from Sunday’s 30-6 loss to the Texans.“We all got to do better,” coach Mike Tomlin said. “I’m looking at us in totality, in terms of what we need to do to win.”Pickett threw for 114 yards with an interception and struggled to move the offense before leaving with the injury. The loss ends a two-game winning streak for the Steelers (2-2) and will likely increase the pressure on third-year offensive coordinator Matt Canada after another subpar offensive performance.Tomlin said Pickett is being evaluated and that he’d know more about his injury later in the week. His injury came when, trailing by 10, the Steelers went for it on fourth-and-1 from the Houston 33 wit...Patriots pull QB Mac Jones after 2 turnovers lead directly to Cowboys touchdowns

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — With his facemask buried in the turf, New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones didn’t see the touchdown that resulted from his fumble deep in his own territory. He might not have seen the defensive tackle pursuing him then, or the cornerback that picked him off just before halftime. Jones was pulled late in the third quarter of the Patriots’ 38-3 loss against the Cowboys on Sunday, when he had three turnovers. Two of them led directly to touchdowns for Dallas. Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch returned a fumble 11 yards early in the second quarter after Jones was tackled from behind by Dante Fowler, who had come from around the end and knocked the ball loose while bringing the quarterback down. Jones was face down under Fowler when the touchdown was scored. Then just before halftime, when Jones was trying for a long completion to Kendrick Bourne, cornerback DaRon Bland stepped in front of the receiver and returned the pick 54 yards for a t...Taylor Swift at MetLife Stadium to watch Travis Kelce’s Chiefs take on the Jets

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (KDVR) -- A Fort Collins-based veterinarian headed back to Ukraine last month, this time with a truck and mobile vet clinic to continue to help locals.“We took the first mobile vet clinic to Ukraine, had it built in Arizona then we took it on a boat, took about six months to get it over there," volunteer vet, founder and national director of The Street Dog Coalition Dr. Jon Geller said. Colorado veterinarian helping families fleeing with pets at Ukraine border FOX31 first interviewed Dr. Geller in March of 2022 when he went to the Ukraine and Romania border and set up a vet clinic. The clinic there was to help fleeing refugees receive passports so their pets could travel to other European countries safely.A year and a half later, Dr. Geller said Ukrainians were starting to return, so he and some volunteers made their way back to help. This time, though, they actually went into the country.“I was concerned about working in a war zone but I was also anxious to se...David Beckham reflects on highs and lows in ‘Beckham’ doc, calls it an ’emotional rollercoaster’

LONDON (AP) — David Beckham delves back into the hateful treatment he received following his infamous 1998 World Cup red card — and its impact on him — in a new Netflix documentary series pegged to the 10th anniversary of his retirement.“This whole process has been like an emotional rollercoaster,” Beckham said of the “Beckham” series in an exclusive video interview with The Associated Press. “I’ve never talked about these certain moments in my career and in my life.”The intimate four-part series explores Beckham’s upbringing, his courtship with his wife and his triumphs on the field, but perhaps the most difficult part was revisiting his painful sending off during England’s World Cup match against Argentina.“I hadn’t actually watched it and I hadn’t actually watched the interviews and what people said about me after,” he said, adding that it left him “shocked and emotional.”Beckham was red carded for deliberately kicking the back of Diego Simeone’s leg. LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Ray Davis gave an encouraging glimpse of what was to come for Kentucky on his first three carries against Florida. He totaled 33 yards and was on the way to one of the best games a Wildcats running back has ever had.Davis rushed for a career-high 280 yards and scored four touchdowns, including three in the first half, as Kentucky overwhelmed the 22nd-ranked Gators 33-14 on Saturday. The Wildcats (5-0, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) turned a matchup considered critical toward establishing an East Division challenger behind top-ranked Georgia into a rout before halftime thanks to Davis’ dominant day.The Vanderbilt transfer established a career rushing best with 206 yards before the break alone in addition to scoring runs of 3 and 75 yards, the latter virtually untouched after bursting through a hole on the left side.Davis also charged for a 9-yard TD reception that made it 10-0, getting a little assist at the goal line from guard Eli Cox.
