Multiple Kansas City crews respond to large warehouse fire

**Editor's Note: The live video player may not have sound unless an official is speaking or FOX4 is providing an on air update**KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Firefighters are fighting a large fire at a business in Kansas City's Northeast Industrial District.Firefighters responded to emergency at a large pallet warehouse near Monroe and Nicholson Avenues shortly after 12 p.m. Thursday. More than 30 units have responded to the fire. Tennis ball-sized hail pounded the Fort Lyon area on Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.A severe thunderstorm warning is posted for the area in Bent County until 8 p.m. Thursday, according to the weather service. CesiumAstro, a rapidly expanding maker of space communications equipment, is looking at Boulder County for a new 100,000-square-foot factory that could create more than 900 jobs in the state and churn out two satellites a day when it is up and running.The Colorado Economic Development Commission on Thursday awarded the company $12.4 million in Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit in return for the creation of 906 jobs over eight years. Those credits can be used against future state tax obligations.The jobs are expected to pay an average annual wage of $104,819, which is 121% of the average annual wage in Boulder County. The Microsoft Theater and surrounding area of L.A. Live is getting a new name, AEG officials announced Thursday.Starting July 11, the 4 million-square-foot entertainment district will bear the Peacock name as part of a multi-year naming rights agreement between AEG and NBC Universal’s streaming service.“The 7,100-seat concert and special events venue formerly known as Microsoft Theater will be named Peacock Theater and the entertainment district’s 40,000 square foot open-air plaza, formerly known as XBOX Plaza, will be known as Peacock Place,” AEG officials detailed in a news release. “The agreement, brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, strategically aligns the brands, and establishes Peacock as the exclusive streaming partner of L.A. 16-Year-Old Female Dead after Pedestrian Accident near Indian School RoadPHOENIX, AZ (June 15, 2023) – Late Friday night, police were called to a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of Paulina Vargas-Ochoa.The incident happened on June 9th, at around 11:00 p.m.,near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road.According to the Phoenix police, they arrived to the site of the collision and found Vargas-Ochoa lying on the highway. She was seriously injured.Following the collision, the suspect did not stop to render aid to the victim. They instead fled the scene.Responding paramedics and authorities transported her to the hospital. She later succumbed to her injuries.
