ST. LOUIS - Adam Wainwright's pitching career is finished, but that didn't stop him from taking the field one more time in his special sendoff weekend. Wainwright came up to the batter's box as a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning of Friday's series opener against the Cincinnati Reds. ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Police say a teen suspect just charged for a suburban gas station robbery made an astounding claim when arrested. The teen said he and four other teenagers targeted around 20 gas stations last Sunday. A FOX Files exclusive revealed one of those was an armed encounter caught-on-camera in St. Charles. WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. - One homeowner in the tiny community of Washington Park, Illinois, is left with a big problem after a huge city-owned tree fell on his home. More than two months after it fell, the tree is still there. Washington Park officials are trying to figure out what to do. They say one problem muddying the waters is the homeowner is in federal prison. Two men were arrested on Friday after they robbed a woman, stole her purse, and used her card to make fraudulent purchases. At approximately 8:21 p.m., Camarillo police responded to reports of a robbery in the 5000 Block of Verdugo Way. According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, a suspect approached the victim in an attempt to rob her and steal her purse. A struggle ensued and the victim was thrown to the ground and dragged. The suspect was eventually able to take her purse and fled in a getaway car driven by another suspect. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police later discovered that a vehicle theft had been reported in the 5100 block of Mariposa Place prior to the robbery report, and the suspect vehicle from the theft matched the vehicle involved in the robbery. ANTIOCH — A fight on the Delta de Anza Trail in Antioch ended in a man’s death Friday morning, police said.The incident was reported around 9:30 a.m. on the trail near the 4100 block of Null Drive, Antioch police Lt. Rick Martin said in a statement. Officers and Contra Costa County firefighters arrived to find a man in his mid-30s to 40s unresponsive on the ground.The man received emergency care, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.Detectives are investigating the death as a homicide, Martin said.
