WASHINGTON (AP) — About 10% of people appear to suffer long COVID after an omicron infection, a lower estimate than earlier in the pandemic, according to a study of nearly 10,000 Americans that aims to help unravel the mysterious condition.Early findings from the National Institutes of Health’s study highlight a dozen symptoms that most distinguish long COVID, the catchall term for the sometimes debilitating health problems that can last for months or years after even a mild case of COVID-19.Millions worldwide have had long COVID, with dozens of widely varying symptoms including fatigue and brain fog. Scientists still don’t know what causes it, why it only strikes some people, how to treat it -– or even how to best diagnose it. Better defining the condition is key for research to get those answers.“Sometimes I hear people say, ’Oh, everybody’s a little tired,'" said Dr. Leora Horwitz of NYU Langone Health, one of the study authors. “No, there’s something different abo...Indiana doctor reprimanded for talking publicly about Ohio 10-year-old's abortion

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An Indiana board decided Thursday night to reprimand an Indianapolis doctor after finding that she violated patient privacy laws by talking publicly about providing an abortion to a 10-year-old rape victim from neighboring Ohio. The state Medical Licensing Board voted that Dr. Caitlin Bernard didn’t abide by privacy laws when she told a newspaper reporter about the girl’s treatment in a case that became a flashpoint in the national abortion debate days after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last summer. The board, however, rejected accusations from Indiana’s Republican attorney general that Bernard violated state law by not reporting the child abuse to Indiana authorities. Board members chose to fine Bernard $3,000 for the violations, turning down a request from the attorney general’s office to suspend Bernard’s license. The board issued no restrictions on her practice of medicine. 10-year-old Ohio girl’s abortion prompts discipli...EMS' new pilot program speeds up water rescues on Lake Austin, Lady Bird Lake

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma has to do with car trips and music. Here's the email: Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. My family (Me, my wife, and our two kids) are taking a trip to the Jersey Shore for Memorial Day Weekend. From here, it's about a four-hour trip with no traffic. It will probably end up being more like five or six hours with traffic. Anyway, I'm a big believer that whoever is driving the car gets control of the radio and the music. That doesn't mean that sometimes I don't give up that power to the kids or that my wife doesn't steal the power from me. But for this trip, I want to listen to the music we can all agree on: the music TRY plays. Classic hits…Elton, Rod, Pat. But my kids think I should turn the radio over to them for two hours of the ride so they can listen to music from people like Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd. No disrespect to them, but I don't wan...Family of 10 survives terrifying house fire

ST. LOUIS -- A family of 10 survives a fire in the early morning hours. The house that sits on Marilyn Lane is just off Route 157. Fortunately, everyone survived, including all the children. This family is certain to be shaken by the scary experience. Fire crews got the call here about twelve forty-five this morning. This fire is quickly growing to two alarms, with crews from five different departments in the metro east area responding to this scene. A family member said he was here when the fire started, along with his girlfriend and the eight children, who ranged in age from just two months old to 14 years old. The man says his girlfriend is the mother of all the kids. He is the father of three of them. He says most of the family members were spending the night outside in a tent. When the fire started, many of the people were already outside. Authorities tell me at this point that they believe that the fire was an accidental kitchen fire that started on the stove. Even though...Latest news
