When Is CBG A Better Choice Than CBD Oil?

View the original article about CBG  at Real Tested CBD.CBD has the most clout in the hemp industry, but searches for “CBD alternatives” have increased. More customers in the hemp community are ready to try a variety of cannabinoids. Although delta-8 products are popular with those who want a psychedelic experience, there are also non-psychoactive hemp cannabinoids that are gaining ground on social media. For instance, more people are asking their local hemp shops whether they have any “CBG near me.” As we’ve covered in previous posts, CBG is a significant cannabinoid that’s the precursor to both CBD and THC. Bay Area storms could bring less intensity but more consistency Tuesday

Published Sun, 23 Feb 2025 02:27:39 GMT

The rain wasn’t expected to let up the day after storms throughout the Bay Area were powerful enough to potentially help knock out power for nearly 20,000 people, though forecasters expected less intense — albeit more consistent precipitation on Tuesday. In an early morning bulletin, the National Weather Service called the rain showers it expects on Tuesday “lingering,” as low-intensity rain was predicted to hang around for much of Tuesday for the entirety of the Bay Area. The 24-hour forecast between 4 a.m. Tuesday and 4 a.m. Wednesday predicted as much as one inch of rain in San Francisco and Half Moon Bay. Inland totals weren’t expected to be quite as high, with forecasts tapping out at one-half of an inch in San Jose and one-quarter of an inch in Concord and Livermore. Chances of thunderstorms, which could carry more precipitation than meteorologists can predict, were marginal according to the NWS.Commuters should still take heed of warnings in regard to we...

How a series of gruesome seal deaths on the California coast led researchers to a surprise predator

Published Sun, 23 Feb 2025 02:27:39 GMT

In her work as stranding coordinator at the Noyo Center for Marine Science in Mendocino County, Sarah Grimes investigates reports of dead marine mammals up and down the coast. So when she began finding the decapitated bodies of harbor seal pups dragged up near the high-tide line in MacKerricher State Park, just a few miles north of Fort Bragg, she was on the case.“It was so gruesome,” said Grimes. “I was like marine mammal CSI, seeing all the dead pups with their heads torn off, and I’m like, ‘What the heck did that?’ ”The headless bodies began turning up in 2016, and Grimes wasn’t able to pin down what was behind them. She suspected it might be coyotes, as she had found tracks in the area — but coyotes were not known to go after live marine mammals. It wasn’t until the fall of last year that Grimes got proof, when Frankie Gerraty, a Ph.D. student at UC Santa Cruz, caught one of the culprits in the act at MacKerricher.Undergraduate research assistant Isabella Turner (left) and ...

California is set to become 2nd state to allow turning wastewater into drinking water

Published Sun, 23 Feb 2025 02:27:39 GMT

By ADAM BEAM | Associated PressSACRAMENTO — When a toilet is flushed in California, the water can end up in a lot of places — the ice in a skating rink, the manufactured snow on ski slopes, in pipes providing irrigation for farmland. And — coming soon — in your drinking glass.California regulators on Tuesday are set to vote on new rules to let water agencies recycle wastewater and put it right back into the pipes that carry drinking water to homes, schools and businesses. It’s a big step for a state that has struggled for decades to have a reliable source of drinking water for its more than 39 million residents. And it signals a shift in public opinion on a subject that as recently as two decades ago prompted backlash that scuttled similar projects.Since then, California has been through multiple extreme droughts, including the most recent one that scientists say was the driest three-year period on record and left the state’s reservoirs at dangerously low levels.RELATED: This beer is...

Tired of the waiting lists for California’s public universities, nursing students increasingly turn to expensive private programs

Published Sun, 23 Feb 2025 02:27:39 GMT

(BCN) -- For Julio Rivera, transferring from a local community college to a bachelor's program in nursing was always a top priority. As someone who enjoyed helping others, nursing seemed like a natural career. While caring for an aunt with renal failure and Type 2 diabetes, a conversation with her solidified the belief that nursing was his calling. "She said, 'You have it. You can really tell that you care about people,'" Rivera said. The pandemic put a pause on Rivera's education as hospitals had difficulty accommodating student nurses. Rivera applied to public programs in San Bernardino County, but many of them were severely limiting clinical training, or not accepting new applicants at the time. Woman vanishes in Santa Cruz, musician boyfriend uncooperative, police say Instead, the 33-year-old chose an increasingly popular option -- a private nursing program that would have a six-figure sticker price but guarantee him a timely degree. After finishing his pre-reqs, he transferre...
